Lake Highland Prep's comprehensive art curriculum offers students dynamic instruction in the fine and performing arts. Students begin their artistic journey in Lower School in acoustic choral and music classrooms, theatre spaces, and an Innovation Lab that inspires creativity. In Middle School, students continue to make new discoveries and deepen their studies of the arts by displaying their work in LHPS and local art contests, and performing for adjudication in music and drama festivals. In Upper School, 9th-12th graders experience conservatory-like programs with advanced classes and competitions in a variety of visual and performing arts media.
Our talented arts faculty members, many of whom are professional artists themselves, provide our students expert teaching in every artistic discipline. Click here to learn more about LHPS's extraordinary arts faculty members.
The Lake Highland family celebrates our thriving arts scene each spring during The Arts Festival, a week designed to highlight art, dance, drama, and music, and to foster an appreciation for the arts within our students. Scheduled events include juried art shows of student works, interactive workshops, and exhibitions by community artists. View photos from our 2017 Arts Festival!
We are intensely proud of the artistic accomplishments of our talented Highlanders. Many of our graduates pursue their artistic passions in college, and some are called to careers in the arts.
